The STANDARD C-8800 is a single-band radio for VHF 144Mc to 146Mc. It was built in the early 1980's. It is a solid and simple-to-use mobile-radio with ergonomic design including tone-call, repeater-shift, 10W rf-power, bandscan and comon VCO for RX and TX.
This radio has no CTCSS-option, no DTMF-option and no 12,5kHz-step. Helicals in the receiving-unit provide very good intermodulation-parameter. On many of those radios modding for 9k6-packet was done. So please take care on mods when buying a used STANDARD C-8800.

Don't tune TX-power above 10W. This would be no good for this great rf-unit.
When your C-8800 always looses memory please take care that you always provide a "standby-supply" on pin 2 as described in the manual.
