Dear OMs and YLs you made me wonder. Basically I expected that the C-828 has no further meaning for hamradio. So I sold one in a very great condition for a low price on a local ham fair. Since this I frequently get quotes were to get spare-parts or complete radios. So I decided to put this radio here into my online-collection to give interested OMs some data and documents at least. The Standard C-828 is a very simple mobile radio for 145Mc. Maximum rf-power is 10W at 12V DC-supply.
For generating frequencies the Standard C-828 uses crystals for each "channel". This means that the C-828 has no VFO and each channel has to be set separate by one special crystal. But as far as I know there was a separate VFO to buy as an option. Some OMs pimp their C-828 by modern, external DDS-VFOs. Its only mode for TX and RX is FM. But many OMs seem to be satisfied with this low-tech radio. In some shacks the C-828 works every day for local QSOs.
