STANDARD C-500

The STANDARD C-500 receives and transmits between 144Mc to 146Mc and 430 to 440Mc (extendable). Despite its age the STANDARD C-500 still often can be heard on hamradio VHF- and UHF-frequenciess. This portable was built for long-term usage. Even some commercial users use them for their jobs.

It is a hamradio portable, built in the 1980es. Price for new ones in 1988 was 1000 Deutsche Mark. Used ones have been sold in 2010 for round about 150 Euros.

The STANDARD C-500 receives and transmits between 144Mc to 146Mc and 430 to 440Mc (extendable). Despite its age the STANDARD C-500 still often can be heard on hamradio VHF- and UHF-frequencies. At the same time as the C-500 STANDARD was released, the C-120, a monoband-transceiver for 2m and the C-420, a mono-transceiver for 70cm were available in the hamradio-stores. Technical details, look and features do agree with the C-500. The only difference in usage: The STANDARD C-500 has a 12,5kHz-step. The C-120 and C-420 do not have a 12,5kHz step. Handling of the STANDARD C-500 is great. It is a solid and robust portbale.

Security-note for STANDARD C-500

The capacitor C-273 frequently gets broken and causes a short cut in the supply of the AF-circuit. This leads to a damage of the voltage regulation of the audio-amp. When this happens the audio-amp circuit will be suplied with full operating voltage. To avoid this damage, please exchange capacitor C-273. It is a usuall cap with 100µF and 10V.

Für mein Handfunkgerät suche ich folgende Akkus . Laut den Original Unterlagen haben sie folgende Bezeichnungen :
– CNB-120 13,2 Volt NiCd Akku
– CNB-111 9,6 Volt NiCd Akku
– CNB-121 7,2 Volt NiCd Akku
– CBC-11 Ersatz Batteriekasten

Meine Fragen an Sie :Haben Sie noch einen der oben genannten Akkus ? Wenn ja , wie teuer sind die einzelnen Akkus ?

Es können natürlich auch baugleiche Akkus sein . Am interessantesten wäre für mich der Ersatz-Batteriekasten CBC-11 .

Hallo OM Ralf,
leider sind sowohl die Batteriefächer als auch die Akkupacks nicht mehrverfügbar. Wenn noch ein altes Akkupack vorhanden ist, dann können wir die alten Akkus daraus entfernen und neue installieren. Hierfür benötigen wir von Ihnen ein altes Akkupack.

Da ich noch zwei C-500 hier im Einsatz habe
suche das CTCSS Modul CTN-500n dafür.
Vielleicht gib es auch ein Nachbau.
Über eine Antwort würde ich mich sehr
freuen.

das CTN-500 wird relativ stark nachgefragt, ist jedoch weltweit leider nicht mehr lieferbar.

gibt es vielleicht die Möglichkeit, das von Dir angebotene CTSS Modul für das C-528 an das C-500 anzupassen?
Gerade weil die Nachfrage doch so groß ist…

Hallo Andreas,
im Prinzip eine gute Idee, unser CTCSS-Modul für das C-500 anzupassen. Aber: In den letzten Jahren habe ich das seltene original CTN-500 noch nicht mal gesehen. Wir wissen über das Modul und die Ansteuerung daher gar nichts. Genau so ein Original CTCSS-Modul würden wir jedoch brauchen um einen Nachbau oder eine Anpassung zu realisieren.
